All costs quoted up front...
When appointing Syntacta you can be confident there will be no unexpected costs or hidden fees. We always ensure everything is quoted up front. The following information describes how we go about pricing your project.
Prices for translation services
There are a number of factors which will determine the price of your translation. These include the subject matter, language combinations, length and complexity of the documents to be translated.
We apply a fee per 1,000 words (pro-rata) of source text (the language of the original document), so we can quote quickly at the beginning of the project.
We usually apply a minimum charge for fewer than 500 words.
Language combination and document complexity
When providing an estimate for your translation project we consider language combination, subject matter, text formatting and other factors.
Extra formatting may cost more and require a longer delivery deadline, while discounts are available for high volume work.
Pricing for interpreting services
Interpreting services can be charged on an hourly, half-day or daily basis depending on the assignment. A minimum charge may apply.
Travel time, mileage or other transport costs, accommodation and food may be charged where applicable. Full details will be included in your quotation.
A fee may be payable if an assignment is cancelled, as we are unlikely to be able to assign interpreters to an alternative job at short notice. Full details will be included in your quotation.
Pricing for other services
We charge an hourly fee for our typesetting service.
Braille, voice-overs, subtitling and cultural briefings
Our fees for Braille services, voice-overs, subtitling and cultural briefings are project-specific.
We charge per minute for transcription services.
Proofreading is charged per 1,000 words, with a minimum charge of 1,000 words.
